KENYA FILTER ROAST
The beautiful Kenyan Nakuru is grown in the highlands of Kenya. The processing facilities are set in a idyllic, fertile and forested location and is surrounded by many smallholder subsistence farmers who grow coffee as a cash crop alongside bananas, mangoes, avocados, potatoes and some livestock.
As a co-operative its membership consists of 1,553 smallholder farms of whom 674 are run by women. The average altitude of these smallholding is approximately 1,650 MASL. The growers have the advantage of deep and rich soils that were created thousands of years ago from the ash of the extinct volcano – Mount Kenya.
